Cagrilintide (or “Cagri”) is a long-acting, lipidated, albumin-binding amylin agonist that targets both amylin and calcitonin receptors. It is used in the treatment of obesity, either on its own or in combination with GLP-1 receptor agonists. Amylin is co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic beta cells and regulates appetite, satiety, gastric emptying, and glucose control.
Combining Cagrilinitide with a GLP-1 like Semaglutide has a synergistic effect, amplifying weight loss beyond what either peptide achieves independently. Other benefits include improved circulation, reduced blood pressure, enhanced bone-building activity, and vasodilation.
